Why was an assessment done on my property?

The MAA is continuously updating property assessment records. An assessment would be done on your property for any of the following reasons:

• Assessment appeal
• Property owner requested a review
• Annual re-assessment of the Municipality
• Newly constructed buildings
• New businesses
• Extensions or modifications to existing buildings
• Major renovations
• Status change (taxable to non-taxable or vice versa)
• Land that has been subdivided
